I joined the Y diabetes program because of several years of my doctor warning me of increasing signs of me becoming diabetic. “You need more exercise and better nutrition” was his message. But what and how? The Y program provides the road map, with all the information one needs on how much exercise, what to eat in one’s diet, how to shop at the grocery store, and what to eat at restaurants. While at the same time providing group support. I started the program in January and lost 20 pounds fairly quickly. More importantly all of my numbers improved when I had my physical in June, and I got an “awesome” from my doctor.
